  PHOTOS: Late Ex-FPRO, Odita, Laid To Rest, IGP Mourns  The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun,  on Friday bid farewell to the late retired Commissioner of Police, Frank Odita.  Odita was a  Force Public Relations Officer  between 1990 and 1992.  Photographs from the burial  were posted on the official X handle of the Nigeria Police Force on Friday, November 3.  Egbetokun noted that Odita had made indelible mark in the hearts of all who knew him, and in the annals of the Nigeria Police Force.  The statement read, "He played a pivotal role in enhancing the image of the Nigeria Police Force and fostering better relations with the media and the community.  "His contributions to the Force will be remembered and cherished.  "As he is laid to rest today, November 3, 2023 in his hometown Ibusa, Delta State, the IGP extends the heartfelt condolences of the Police to his family and loved ones and prays for the repose of his ...

 PHOTOS: Army Foils Terrorists' Attack On Kano Community   Joint troops of the Nigerian Army and the Department of State Services have averted an imminent attack on a Kano State community by suspected Boko Haram terrorists. According to a statement released on the official X account of the Nigerian Army, a raid operation was carried out on the terrorists' hideout in Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State in the early hours of Friday, November 3, 2023. Two suspects were apprehended and are now in custody, the statement revealed. The troops also recovered  "five AK 47 Rifles, five AK 47 Rifle Magazines, one Rocket Propelled Gun (RPG), five RPG Bombs, six Hand Grenades, five pairs of Desert Camouflage Uniforms, ten pairs of magazine pouches and some Improvised Explosive Device (IED) making materials."  Why NASS Is Not Buying Locally-made Cars For Lawmakers - Reps Spokesperson  The spokesperson for the House of Representatives, Akin Rotimi, has disclosed why the National Assembly is deciding against procuring Locally-made vehicles for lawmakers.  According to Rotimi, during an interview with Channels TV on Friday, provisions for these vehicles were made by previous lawmakers. Rotimi continued saying the uproar on social media was because current lawmakers were transparent about it. He, however, did not confirm if lawmakers will shelve the idea but noted that since transparency has triggered a public conversation, change may come. A China-developed five-seat "air taxi" will make its debut at the 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE), which will be held from November 5 to 10 this year, following a successful trial flight in Shanghai. The Vertical Take-off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft is designed with five seats, has a maximum range of 250 kilometers, a speed of 200 km per hour, and features 20 rotors. It is expected to meet the demand for use in urban transportation, disaster emergencies, energy and the logistics industry. #CIIE2023

 PHOTOS: LAWMA, KAI Officials Nab 70 For Indiscriminate Waste Disposal A joint enforcement team made up of the Lagos State Waste Management Authority and the Kick Against Indiscipline officials has arrested 70 persons for dumping waste indiscriminately on the road sides. The spokesperson for the state Ministry of Environment and Water Resources, Kunle Adeshina, made this known in an X post on Friday. Sharing photos from the operation, Adeshina wrote, "In a sting operation on Wednesday night across different locations led by LAWMA MD/CEO, Dr Muyiwa Gbadegesin, joint enforcement teams arrested over 70 people for dumping waste indiscriminately on the road sides under the cover of darkness. "The team  which included KAI operatives patrolled areas like Lawanson, Ijesha, Isolo, Agege Motor Road, and Apapa Road, with the Managing Director, Dr Muyiwa Gbedegesin promising that the action would not be a one off exercise."
